The iPod Nano AV - March 8, 2006
Over the last few days we have been seeing videos and plenty of images of a full-screen “iPod AV”. There is a good chance Apple has already created this and if not they probably will do so. Almost every image so far looked really fake until the one that turned up a few days ago from MacShrine. Even though this site has become well known for FAKE iPod images, this one looked credible. Also since Adobe Photoshop has become common, it is hard to tell whether these items actually exist. However, videos were released on YourTube that demonstrated an iPod AV in action playing a video, which backs up their claim. This video may be more credible since it is much harder to create videos of this sort. If this does exist it should be announced on April 1st, 2006, which is Apple’s 30th birthday.
Anyways back to the image above, we have created a mockup of an iPod Nano AV. It only took us about 15-20 mins using photoshop and some images from Apple’s iPod Nano image gallery to come up with this. This shows how easily an experienced photoshop user can create realistic looking images. I can barely use photoshop, but if I had more time and was more experienced I could probably create something much better.

Did you make a video of how you made that in Photoshop? Would be interesting to watch.

Um, no offense meant to be taken, but the image you created does not seem real in any fashion. It does, however, look like one of Apple’s product mock-ups, albeit one that doesn’t make much sense (Photo library showing at the same time as a song? No.) If these iPod AV pictures are in fact fake (the cool ones from MacShrine and youtube), then we really have some dedicated artists trying to trick us. This stuff is hard to pull off, believe me, I am a proffesional with photoshop, and it takes me anywhere from 30-90 minutes to create a photorealistic mock-up. Either way, I’m waving my flag for the supposed leakers.
But hell, it would be SO DAMN COOL if Apple released the iPod AV. Man, I would be all over it.

retro, my idea with this was multi-tasking. I thought it would be a good feature so that people could be viewing the status of their song below, while at the same time being able to browser through their library, view photos, or play those mini games. Don’t you think that would be good?

I would love that, I’m always having to pause my song to view my slideshows and other stuff
Or like a song comes on I’m not in the mood for somes on and I have to go all the way to now playing :S it’s annoying…

If you mean browsing something else while being able to glance at your song while all buttons pressed or touched do not affect the song, then yes, it is a great idea. I thought you were trying to show some sort of dual-control UI. :P
